Flare-ups can be influenced by many factors – including diet, stress, the products you’re using and your individual immune response. What is patch testing and why is it necessary?
All Salvida products are third-party tested on sensitive skin, but every individual’s skin has its own unique sensitivities.
Patch testing involves applying a small amount of product to a discreet area (we recommend the inner forearm) and observing how your skin responds over 24–48 hours.
It helps ensure your skin tolerates a new product before applying it more broadly - especially important for compromised, reactive or eczema-prone skin.
We strongly recommend patch testing any new product you’re adding to your routine.

Barrier NPR+ is your multi-tasking balm for sensitive, irritated and barrier-challenged skin. It helps calm red, itchy and irritated-feeling skin whilst double-tasking as an everyday barrier balm.

1. Start simple
For the first few days (or until skin feels more settled), use Barrier NPR+ on its own.

Aim to apply twice daily, with the most important application after the evening bath or shower to help lock in moisture overnight.
2. Adjust as the skin improves
If the skin starts to feel tight or looks dry or flaky, use Bodyguard in the morning and Barrier NPR+ in the evening.
3. Ongoing maintenance
Once the skin feels fully settled, switch to Bodyguard twice daily for daily maintenance.
